How we handle your details.

Who we are

Zuki Studio ("we", "us") is the trading name of J Cooper, a sole trader in the UK. J Cooper is responsible for the details you give us (the "controller") and decides how they are used. You can reach us at hello@zukistudio.co.uk.

What we collect

• What you type into our enquiry form: your message and your email address.
• If you email us directly, your email address and whatever you write.
• If you tick the box to hear from us, your email address is added to our newsletter list.

We do not ask for card details, dates of birth or anything else. Please do not put anything sensitive in your message.

Why we use it

• To reply to you and talk about your project. This is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and it is what you expect when you write to us.
• To send you our newsletter, only if you ticked the box. This is based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by telling us.

We do not sell your details.

Who helps us handle it

• Formspree receives what you submit in the form, stores a copy, and emails it to us.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and, like any web host, briefly processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
• Google Workspace hosts our email.
• When we start sending a newsletter, we will use an email service and name it here.

These providers, some of which are based in the US, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use transfer safeguards recognised under UK law, set out in their data processing terms. Email us and we will tell you which apply. We only share your details with them to run the service described above.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to work together, we delete it 12 months after our last contact. If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as UK tax law requires (currently at least five years after the relevant tax return deadline). You stay on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. If you ask us to delete your details, we will, unless the law requires us to keep them, and we will tell you if that applies.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not currently use cookies or tracking tools, and its fonts are served from our own site. If that changes, we will update this page and ask first where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, delete them, or object to how we use them. Some of these rights have legal limits; if one applies to your request, we will explain why. Email hello@zukistudio.co.uk and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
